As members of the Ladies Auxiliary to the Veterans of Foreign Wars, we all work together for a common cause – our country’s Veterans. Our Department President Beverly’s theme for this year is “The Cardinal Rule – Our Veterans”. Each of us joined this organization under the eligibility of a family member who served in the Armed Forces and who fought for the freedom that we now have. We must continue our work for our Veterans and their families. This can be accomplished by instituting new Auxiliaries and by retaining current Auxiliaries. Any Auxiliary that is failing needs our help and guidance.
In the words of our National President, Cortina Barnes, “As members of the Ladies Auxiliary to the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States, we are a team – a team bound together by our love for our Veterans and for our Country.” Here in Illinois we are such a team. By continuing to work together as a team, we will remain committed to taking care of our Veterans and their families.
Our Department President has appointed eight Deputy Chiefs of Staff to assist the Auxiliaries this year. There are three for the up-state districts, three for the mid-state districts, and two plus myself for the down-state districts.
I look forward to working with all of you this year and I know each and everyone of us will continue working together because we are “United by Love for Our Veterans and Country”.
