First, thank you visiting our Legislative website for the Dept. of IL Ladies Auxiliary. If you do not find what you are looking for on this site, please feel free to contact me at the above e-mail address, or give me a call at 618-544-8562.
Since 1914, when our organization began, the members of the Ladies Auxiliary have been joining forces to support our veterans. The Legislative Program provides the tools we need to be effective in this area. With over one-half million members nationwide, our voices can make a powerful difference as to the legislation that is passed by our lawmakers concerning veterans' issues. Everyone needs to be involved!
The most urgent legislation for this year is now being considered in Congress, due to the failure of the "Super Committee" to come to an agreement on the nation's budget. There is a possibility that some of the benefits to which our veterans are currently entitled will cease to exist when the budget is trimmed. We all need to join together to urge our lawmakers not to balance the budget at the expense of the American veteran! Some of you have indicated that you have visited the website and were unable to find the contact information and sample letter to our legislators.
